Heat Reportedly Turned Down Suns Deal Involving 3 Players

Kevin Durant has left the Phoenix Suns and is now a member of the Houston Rockets.

In the days leading up to the big trade, the Suns heard multiple offers from several teams, including the Miami Heat.

But according to Shams Charania, via NBACentral, the Heat weren’t willing to agree to one specific package.

The Heat turned down a deal that would have featured Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, Haywood Highsmith, the No. 20 draft picks, and other assets.

Would Durant have been theirs if they said yes to that?

It’s surprising to hear that the Heat were so resistant to this trade, because there was a lot of talk about the team prior to the Durant move.

It seemed like they were working hard to put together something that the Suns wanted.

Everyone knew that the Suns wouldn’t part ways with Durant for just anything, and they were surely going to drive a hard bargain and demand what worked best for them in the present and future.

They wanted some young players who could develop over time, as well as draft picks.

But for whatever reason, the Heat said no, and now they are out of the running for Durant.

However, they may try to find other players during the offseason.

They might not have much success, though, especially if they remain stubborn about moving these three.

Heat fans will be disappointed if the summer comes to an end without changes to the roster.

So, the front office better be hard at work coming up with something, even if it involves one of these three stars.
