Vacharidis: “2-0 gives us confidence, as time goes by we will get better”
The coach of MSG Gefyras (National League 1, 3rd group), Christos Vacharidis, spoke on his show “Before the Jambol” OK WebRadio with Athina Patrinou and Raphael Alagas.
He said in detail:
For the away game against Eleftheroupoli (18/10): “We have a 2-0 which has given us confidence, but we are going into a match against a very good and experienced team, who have been in a higher division for years. We are two groups with different goals. We want to star but first we have to secure our stay in the division as soon as possible”.
On his approach to the next match: “We have to control the perimeter and limit them there, they have a lot of quality in the guards and they are experienced. I want us to impose our pace in order to win.”
On his experience so far on the Bridge: “It has its own steady course, in the summer I talked about it. Despite being in the division for many years, there aren’t many players left, so we have a new roster. We are building something new. In the first two games we were leading at half-time but we couldn’t keep it up, that shows we are a young team. What I want to improve is her duration on the floor with a good image combined with the team’s goals.”
To add the foreign player: “We have taken a player who has performances abroad and we are trying to fit him in as well as possible. It is not easy to adapt him, he has good elements and we are trying to highlight him and the team to fulfill his goals. It is the team’s first addition historically. For the team also it’s something unprecedented in terms of his inclusion, it’s going well for now.”
For team ID: “I really like targeted basketball and reading the opponent’s weaknesses on the floor, that’s what I want to impose in combination with the pace that every match needs with the aim of getting the best. So, I want us to dictate our pace by reading the opponent’s weaknesses. 2-0 gives us confidence that we are working well, but the duration of our performance is a concern for us. I’m sure that as time goes by we will become a better team.”
