Steve Kerr Has Honest Admission About Andrew Wiggins
The Golden State Warriors received Jimmy Butler on Wednesday evening, but it cost them one of their most beloved and cherished players.
Andrew Wiggins was sent to the Miami Heat in the trade, putting an end to six seasons in the Bay Area that featured one All-Star appearance and a championship.
Following the big news on Wednesday, head coach Steve Kerr talked about Wiggins, what he meant to the team, and how much he will miss him.
“[Wiggins] just had a baby boy last week…One of my favorite players I’ve ever coached…We don’t hang that banner in ’22 without him” Kerr said, via NBA on ESPN.

Wiggins came to the Warriors in 2019-20 after getting his start with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
People had a lot of questions about Wiggins, and they weren’t sure how he would fit into the team’s rotation.
When he first entered the league, he was pictured as a team leader, especially after winning Rookie of the Year.
But could Wiggins adjust to being the Warriors’ second or third option behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson?
People weren’t sure, but Wiggins soon started showing his potential.
During his six years with the Warriors, he averaged 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.
As Kerr mentioned, he was a vital part of the team’s lineup as they earned their latest championship, and Wiggins had a big impact on the team’s culture and chemistry.
But basketball is a tough business and the Warriors felt it best to move Wiggins so they could acquire Butler.
He will leave behind a lot of career highlights and milestones, but it sounds like Wiggins will also leave behind plenty of friends.
