Rising Stars: Results 4-5 January 2025
In the last game of the first day for Rising Stars National Insurance at the indoor gym of Mantoulidis Training Centers, the elite Rising Stars team prevailed over the Hellas U16 team after an exciting match with 81-68.
The Stars started strong and led 14-6 and 16-9 with a basket by Komnianidis in the 6th minute, while they also reached a double score just before the end of the first quarter (22-11 in the 9th minute).
With an “alliance” of 24-15 in the first quarter, the Rising Stars continued to pressure the Boys and managed to score 24 points in the second as well, but conceded only 11 and thus left for the locker room at halftime leading 48-26 with leaders Komnianides, Asimakopoulos and Karambela.
The Boys entered the third quarter stronger and reduced the score to 52-36 with Voda at just 22'. The “counterattack” continued for 56-43 in the 26th minute. The Stars managed to resist at the end of the quarter, being more experienced, and “close” the third quarter with 65-51. In the fourth quarter, the Stars made it 72-51 in the 36th minute with a three-pointer by Panagiotopoulos and were able to keep the Children's new effort to reduce the score until their final victory with 81-68.

Peristeri pulled off a major upset to cruise to an 82-74 victory over AEK at the Olympiakos Chorio indoor gym for Round 9 of the Rising Stars National Insurance.
AEK dominated the first quarter. It started with a 7-0 (2') and continued until 23-8 (7'45'') with Peristeri at the same time counting 3/11 two-pointers and 0/4 three-pointers. Tsipourlianos scored 37-19 (12'15'') and at this point the “cyano-yellow” showed the first signs of reaction. With a partial 13-3 and Chaidemenos writing 40-32 (16'10'') they got closer, maintaining the same difference at the end of the first half with Tzialla scoring 49-41.
The Union with Nikolaou, Ioannou and Karagiannis reached +15 (59-44) halfway through the third period. The distance narrowed again with Sugleris and Papageorgiou with five consecutive points leading to 62-58 (29'). Peristeri had its own… monologue at the start of the fourth quarter. Chaidemenos leveled the match (66-66, 31'25'') and gave the lead to his team (66-68, 32'50'') with Tzialla also leading +4 (66-70 , 33'25''). Ftiaras and Chaidemenos scored 69-75 (36΄10”).
With the difference being maintained at five points (74-79, 38′), Peristeri managed to renew its attack twice through offensive rebounds, which was key to the victory, which was definitively sealed by Ftiaras with a three-pointer for the final 74-82

Moutafis almost in stoppage time gave DEKA the victory over Panioni with 68-66 after an exciting match in progress, in the closed gym “Antonis Tritsis” in Kalyvia and in the context of the 9th game of the Rising Stars National Insurance.
The “blue and red” were the ones who found themselves in the driver's seat from the first minutes of the match, writing 4-12 halfway through the first period. Ermidis scored 10-16 (7'30'') and at this point the Thessalonikians went on a short run and took the lead with a 7-0 (17-16, 7'30'').
Panionios regained the lead quickly and managed to reach a double-digit difference (037-47, 25'15''). But the game still had a way to go and DEKA was there to prove it. With a 13-3 he led the match to a tie with Mutafis writing 50-50 (28'50'') and Savvas also gave his team the lead (54-52, 30'30''). The two led to 62-57 (37') with Dapsi who had already reached a double double reducing (62-59, 37'30″).
Strantzalis and Makaratzis hit from mid-range and long range to give DEKA a six-point advantage (66-60, 38'30”) at a decisive point in the match. Dapsis with a “goal foul” reduced the score again (66-63, 39'15″) and Kalaboyas brought the game to an even level from 6:75 (66-66) with 3″ on the clock. Moutafis with a difficult effort turned and hit the target to make it 68-66 in dead time!

Panathinaikos kept a steady lead throughout the match, scored 12/26 three-pointers and defeated PAOK 82-64 for the 9th matchday of the Rising Stars National Insurance at the “Antonis Tritsis” indoor gym in Kalyvia.
The “greens” showed determination entering the game, they took the lead and with Mancic's goal they reached +10 (7-17) shortly after the halfway mark of the first period. He led the game to 11-23 (8΄30''). Binis scored 19-31, reaching 15 points himself in 17 minutes of participation with Bousboura already counting 7 assists in 16' minutes!
Glavakis' four consecutive points led to 25-33 (15'30''), but Georges and Tsakiris took over to send the difference back to +12 (27-39, 18'). The latter widened the distance between the two teams to +15 from 6m75 (32-47, 21'10″). Tsimericas with PAOK's first three-pointer of the game made it 42-52 (26') and Lefas gave the difference a single-digit value (45-54, 27').
Panathinaikos reacted immediately to lead to +16 (47-63, 29'55”) with Tsakiris' three-pointer. Siogas reduced for the Thessalonians (57-67, 34'), but the “greens” firmly kept the lead, reached +20 with Bousboura (59-59, 37') and prevailed with the final

In the first game of the day of the group held at E. Mantoulidis for the Rising Stars National Insurance, the Italian Borgomanero prevailed with 80-52 of the CHANTH.
The Brotherhood started the match better and led with a good defense 14-19 in the first quarter succeeding with Dimtsikos and a basket in “dead time”. It continued at the same pace in the second quarter, reaching 17-25, but the Italian team, with Piazza, managed to reduce the score to 26-28 in the 15th minute and take the lead in the 18th minute with 31-30.
