Portaria Boys Christmas Camp 2024 (born 2011)

The Christmas Camp held from December 27 to 30, 2024 in Portaria was a unique experience for 62 talented athletes from all over Greece. Under the guidance of leading coaches and sports experts, the participants had the opportunity to show their talent and develop, in an environment that combines the high level of training with scientific support.

Coaching guidance

The EEC development program was carried out under the supervision of experienced coaches Kostas Papadopoulos, Nikos Stavropoulos and Kostas Tsartsaris, in collaboration with six regional coaches of EEC, Kostas Bastounis, Kyriakos Karabatzakis, Grigoris Yasaris, Panagiotis Kouvatsis, Alexandros Korogona and Nikos Papagiannis.

In addition, the scientific guidance from the Development Program trainer, Angelos Karamintzos, provided a comprehensive assessment through ergometric and somatometric measurements, enhancing the fitness and performance of the young athletes.

Intensive program and training

The 62 athletes, born in 2011, were divided into five groups, each with a responsible development coach.

The program included:

Training and matches: Focus on technique, tactics and fitness.

Competitive Tests: Tests that boosted competitiveness and concentration.

Educational lectures: From distinguished athletes and scientists, with the aim of cultivating sports culture and healthy development.

Special competition regulations

The tournament implemented special U14 regulations aimed at improving the speed and strategy of the athletes:

Ball return without referee.

Maximum attack time 19'', with the first 5'' for crossing the center line.

Defensive violation 3'' inside the racket.

Rule 1+1(+1) on shots.

These regulations helped develop more dynamic play, enhancing defensive alertness, quick decision-making and vertical play.

Evaluation and development strategy

The somatometric and ergometric measurements, such as weight, height, arm span, velocity, standing reach and spot jump, accurately recorded the condition of the athletes. This data was evaluated to monitor their progress and formulate development strategies, focusing on strengths and areas for improvement.

The EEC Christmas camp in Portaria was not only a training challenge, but also an unforgettable experience for the young athletes.
