Packers Coach Raves About Rashan Gary
The Green Bay Packers’ defense has been among the best in the league through the first three weeks of the season.
The addition of Micah Parsons has proved to be worth the money and trading away Kenny Clark and the two first-round draft picks, and this should continue to provide dividends as the season goes on.
Parsons isn’t the only one making an impact on this side of the ball, as the Packers have several strong defenders.
One of them is Rashan Gary, who defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley talked about during a recent press conference, as reporter Ryan Wood noted on X.
“It’s what he did in training camp, and it’s what we were hoping we were going to see, and we have. He gets to the quarterback,” Hafley said of Gary.
#Packers DC Jeff Hafley credits Rashan Gary working on his get-off this offseason for 4.5 sacks in first 3 games: “It’s what he did in training camp, and it’s what we were hoping we were going to see, and we have. He gets to the quarterback.”

Gary has already logged 4.5 sacks, which is the most of anyone in the league.
This trend should continue as long as he and Parsons are on the team, as it’s nearly impossible to contain them both on a single play.
Gary had 9.5 sacks in 2021, a career-high, and he’s on pace to double that, a testament to what Hafley’s been able to accomplish with this team.
Making the quarterback uncomfortable is the primary goal for pass-rushers like Gary and Parsons, something they both excel at.
It will be interesting to see how they perform against some of the most athletic quarterbacks in the game, including Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts, both of whom are on the schedule for later in the season.
If they can keep these game-wrecking tendencies alive against those opponents, it’s a great indication of what they might be able to accomplish in the playoffs.
