Kendrick Perkins Makes Big Prediction About OKC Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the top team in the West with a 50-11 record, but that doesn’t guarantee postseason success.

Throughout NBA history, numerous teams have entered the playoffs in a good position and have fallen off quickly.

But Kendrick Perkins doesn’t think that will happen to the Thunder.

Speaking on Tuesday’s “First Take,” Perkins predicted the Thunder will go all the way this year.

“The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to the NBA Finals. There’s not a team in the Western Conference that can beat them in a seven-game series,” Perkins said.

He stated that the Los Angeles Lakers might be able to compete in a seven-game series against the Thunder, but they wouldn’t be able to stop them entirely.

He doesn’t see any other Western Conference foe who has what it takes to overpower the Thunder.

A big reason for that is because the team’s roster is just so deep, according to Perkins.

They have numerous players who can come off the bench, provide a lot of support, and keep OKC strong for all four quarters.

That is one of the reasons why so many people agree with Perkins and think the Thunder could be champions.

But there may be obstacles getting in their way.

Some analysts and experts feel that Oklahoma City’s lack of deep postseason experience could hurt them, especially against a proven team such as the Lakers or Denver Nuggets.

Of course, they do have some experience in the postseason, they just haven’t gone very far and won it all.

But every championship team eventually has a season when they break through and silence all the doubters.

Will this be the year for the Thunder?
