Jaguars Announce 2 Roster Moves On Monday
The Jacksonville Jaguars had an awful 2024 season and stumbled to a 4-13 record after coming into the year with aspirations of winning the AFC South and making a playoff run.
Owner Shad Khan fired head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke and is looking to start fresh with a revamped roster, and the team has announced two roster moves for added depth.
“We have signed QB John Wolford and WR Louis Rees-Zammit to the active roster,” the Jaguars wrote on X.

With backup quarterback Mac Jones becoming a free agent, Wolford likely will be the third-string quarterback behind Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Beathard, while Rees-Zammit will serve as depth behind a solid wide receiver group led by standout rookie Brian Thomas Jr., Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis. The latter two missed extensive time this season due to injury.
Wolford hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2022, his final of three years with the Los Angeles Rams, where he compiled a total of one touchdown pass and five interceptions in seven games played (four starts).
Rees-Zammit is a former rugby star who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs prior to this season before being cut after the preseason and then spending the entire season on Jacksonville’s practice squad.
Neither move is a game-changer, but each helps solidify a shaky position for the offense and will allow the front office to move forward and focus on more important things.
It’ll be interesting to see if Rees-Zammit can tap into his old rugby skills and carve out a role in Liam Coen’s new offense.
