The owner of the Panathinaikos AKTOR, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, was publicly placed through a post on Instagram on the occasion of the agreement between the government and Olympiacos on the concession of the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
July 21, 2025 is recorded as a historic day for Olympiacos, as the “red -white” OEM secured the use of the SEF for the next 49 years, through a concession contract with the Greek State.
Giannakopoulos's request for Panathinaikos investment
The government's announcement notes that the state assumes the responsibility for the necessary work of energy upgrading and maintenance of the Stadium. The particular point of the agreement was the reason for the intervention of Dimitris Giannakopoulos, who recalled that Panathinaikos had bought the cost of corresponding projects to the OAKA when a similar contract was signed for the concession of the stadium.
Through his story, the powerful man of the “green” OEM emphasized the need to refund the money invested by Panathinaikos for the Energy Upgrading and Infrastructure of the OAKA.

“I imagine that the Greek State will arrange even with a delay so that Panathinaikos will get the money he has put on energy upgrading and infrastructure at the OAKA,” he said in his post.
