EuroLeague: “Clubs agreed to proposal to set December 1, 2025 as return date for games in Israel”
The official position of the EuroLeague on the return to Israel of Maccabi and Hapoel.
The EuroLeague discussed at today’s Board of Directors meeting the situation in Israel and Gaza and set the return date of the Maccabi and Hapoel games in Tel Aviv on December 1st.
The announcement states that “Euroleague will continue to closely monitor developments, remain in close contact with local and foreign authorities, teams visiting the region and all relevant organisations, including ELPA, EHCB and UEBO, and ensure that the safety and welfare of all involved remains the highest priority”.

EuroLeague member clubs met on Tuesday to discuss the current situation in Israel and Gaza following the recently announced ceasefire and peace initiatives.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of EuroLeague and EuroCup matches returning to Israel, after the matches were moved to neutral venues from October 2023.
After careful discussion, the ECA clubs agreed to the proposal to set 1 December 2025 as the date for the return of games to Israel. Until then, Euroleague will continue to closely monitor developments, remain in close contact with local and foreign authorities, teams visiting the region and all relevant organisations, including ELPA, EHCB and UEBO, and ensure that the safety and well-being of all involved remains the highest priority.
