Details Emerge About Trail Blazers’ Extension Offer To Shaedon Sharpe

Shaedon Sharpe of the Portland Trail Blazers is entering the final season of his four-year rookie scale contract, but his team is clearly planning ahead.

They like what they have seen from Sharpe, and they want a lot more of it.

According to Jake Fischer, the Blazers’ initial extension offer to Sharpe is about four years and $90 million.

Since coming into the league in 2022, Sharpe has been steadily getting better.

He has averaged 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during his career, shooting 44.9 percent from the field.

During his rookie campaign, Sharpe was good for 9.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Last year, those numbers had significantly bumped up to 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.

He had a tough time with consistency at the start of his career, but Sharpe has been hard at work in order to address that.

Sharpe is obviously headed in the right direction, and the Blazers are well aware of that.

This proposed deal is similar to the one that Josh Giddey received from the Chicago Bulls, and it’s good for both sides.

The Blazers want Sharpe to be a cornerstone of their future, and they are making that obvious with their healthy offer.

Some people think he could be an All-Star within the next few years, so he could generate a lot of attention if the Blazers don’t secure him with a new contract.

If he does become a potential free agent, a lot of teams will aim to get Sharpe.

The Blazers are serious about keeping him, and they are willing to pay up.
