Clippers Facing Internal Tension Over Kawhi Leonard’s Future
He came to them as a two-time champion and one of the most impressive players in the NBA, but right now, Kawhi Leonard is a huge headache for the Los Angeles Clippers.
The controversy and investigation around Leonard is growing larger and troubling.
Meanwhile, more and more details are emerging about the difficulties around Leonard.
Because of the investigation, Leonard’s inner circle, his injuries, and more, the Clippers are contemplating moving on from him.

Moving on from Leonard could take many forms.
The team could trade or waive him, or they could simply make moves that focus on the future and building a team for life after his retirement.
Of course, they could be forced to let go of Leonard soon.
If the NBA decides that the team worked to circumvent salary cap rules, they could hit them with some serious punishments, up to and including waiving Leonard’s contract and prohibiting him from signing with them again.
Leonard is a talented player, a likely future Hall of Famer with a deft skill on both ends of the court.
But he hasn’t brought any championships to LA, his injuries have been troublesome, and now this situation with the league’s investigation is only creating more havoc.
It’s understandable that some within the Clippers organization would like to leave Leonard behind, but it’s not clear how they will do that.
The Clippers could move on from Leonard, or be forced to, soon.
Everyone is now waiting for more information from inside the team.
