Packers Defender Called On To Step Up After Bye Week
Through the first four games of the NFL season, we’ve seen the best and worst of the Green Bay Packers‘ defense.
They can shut down any team when they’re at their best, or they can fall apart like they did in their latest outing.
However, even in their best games, the lack of turnovers has been one of the biggest concerns.
With that in mind, SleeperPackers took to social media to urge defensive back Xavier McKinney to get back to creating interceptions starting in Week 6.
“Need ballhawk McKinney coming out of the bye. Dude was everywhere last season and this defense needs more of that,” SleeperPackers wrote on X.

McKinney finished last season with eight interceptions.
He also had 11 passes defended, one sack, and forced and recovered one fumble.
Those numbers have gone down drastically this season, with one interception and two passes defended in four games.
Of course, he’s not going to set career highs in interceptions and passes defended every season, but it’s been a slow start nonetheless.
It’s too early to sound the alarm, and there’s nothing about the Packers’ defensive personnel or coaching that should concern fans.
But it’s time for their playmakers to step up, especially against Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Packers seemed to be a little too confident after dominating in their first two games of the season.
Perhaps a loss, tie and bye week were what they needed to get a bit of a reality check.
Hopefully, they will come out of the bye week motivated and eager to prove why their Super Bowl aspirations are legitimate.
