President Tinubu replaces Nigeria’s service chiefs in major military shake-up

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has appointed a new service chief in a broad reform of the country’s military leadership, the presidency announced on Friday, as part of measures to bolster national security.

The overhaul comes as Nigeria faces ongoing security issues, including Islamist insurgencies in the northeast, armed banditry in the northwest, and separatist violence in the southeast.
